The Black Construction-Tutor Perini Joint Venture has been awarded a task order worth $181.8 million for a significant defense project in Guam. The contract, awarded by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific, is for the Guam Defense System – Enhanced Integrated Air and Missile Defense Phase 1 project.
Project Scope and Funding
Funded by the U.S. Defense Department’s Pacific Deterrence Initiative, the project involves constructing an enhanced integrated air and missile defense site. The site will include a dedicated power generation facility, complete with standby power, a switchgear building, and associated equipment. Other infrastructure includes fuel and water storage facilities, a fire pump building, and an entry control facility.
The task order also contains two options for additional work, which, if exercised, could increase the total value of the contract by $12.1 million.
Tutor Perini Corporation, a leading civil, building, and specialty construction company, announced that the project’s value will be added to its backlog in the third quarter of 2025. Work is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2026.
