The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has relaunched the Priority 2030 program, with a renewed focus on advancing Russia’s technological leadership. Gazprombank, a strategic partner of the Ministry, is playing a crucial role in this initiative by providing its expertise in analyzing and evaluating the most promising high-tech projects from leading Russian universities.
Fifteen leading universities, including Tomsk State University, presented their cutting-edge projects to a panel of industry experts, including representatives from business and development institutions. The evaluation approaches developed during this pitch session will serve as a framework for assessing projects from all 140 universities participating in the Priority 2030 program.
Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, emphasized the dual objectives of the program: “Universities face two critical tasks. Firstly, to train highly qualified personnel who can not only meet the current demands of the economy but also anticipate future needs. Secondly, to drive Russia’s technological leadership through active development in applied and fundamental sciences.”
Dmitry Zauers, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Gazprombank JSC, highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, business, and academia. “As part of the relaunched Priority 2030, we aim to establish a collaborative framework where government, business, and universities can work together to develop and implement joint projects,” stated Zauers.
The presented projects showcased a high level of innovation, demonstrating the universities’ commitment to translating research findings into impactful technological advancements with significant societal benefits.
Moving forward, the universities will focus on accelerating the transition of research results into technological innovations with high industrial potential. The project evaluations conducted during the pitch session will inform the development of project selection criteria, technological expertise methods, and financing instruments for all 140 universities participating in the Priority 2030 program in 2025.
