Seamec Limited, a leading offshore support vessel provider, today announced a significant charter hire contract with Safeen Al Behar Limited Company, a Saudi Arabian company. The contract will see the deployment of Seamec Swordfish, the company’s multipurpose diving support vessel (DSV), for operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Under the terms of the Bimco charter party, Seamec Swordfish will be employed for a firm period of 730 days with an option for extension. The charter is expected to commence between March 1 and March 30, 2025, and is valued at $57.40 million for the firm period.
Seamec Swordfish, acquired from James Fisher and Sons in 2022, is a state-of-the-art vessel specifically designed for demanding offshore operations. The 103.7-meter-long vessel, built in 2007 by Kleven Verft in Norway, is equipped to handle saturation diving, ROV operations, survey work, and crane operations in challenging weather conditions. It is ideally suited for offshore installations of subsea hardware, complex deepwater inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) activities, and well-intervention services.
This contract marks a significant milestone for Seamec, demonstrating the strong demand for its high-quality offshore support vessels in the Middle East region.
