Rudolph and Sletten, a subsidiary of the construction company Tutor Perini Corporation, has been awarded a contract worth approximately $960 million to build the new UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California. The project will now move into its full construction phase.
The project’s scope of work includes constructing a new hospital building that will be around 277,500 square feet and consist of seven levels above ground, a full basement, and a separate parking garage with a rooftop heliport. The contract also includes the installation of a site services trailer and the demolition of three existing structures to prepare the site.
Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031. The contract value will be added to the company’s backlog in the third quarter of 2025.
