Drees & Sommer expands Poland footprint through ADC acquisition

Global consulting and project delivery firm Drees & Sommer has strengthened its position in Central and Eastern Europe through the acquisition of Polish project management and construction planning company ADC Sp. z o.o.

The acquisition, which became legally effective on May 6, 2026, sees Drees & Sommer acquire 100% of ADC’s shares, significantly expanding its project planning, supervision and delivery capabilities across Poland and the wider CEE region.

Founded in 2018, ADC has established itself as a major player within Poland’s fast-growing construction and real estate sector, delivering integrated services spanning architecture and design, technical advisory, project management and construction supervision.

Around 70 ADC employees will join Drees & Sommer Poland, increasing the company’s workforce in the country to more than 90 employees across offices in Warsaw, Rzeszow, Wrocław and Katowice.

Strengthening end-to-end project delivery

The acquisition reflects a broader shift across the project and construction sector toward integrated delivery models, where clients increasingly seek partners capable of managing projects across the full lifecycle, from early-stage planning through to execution and operational handover.

ADC’s expertise strengthens Drees & Sommer’s ability to provide a “one-stop shop” project delivery model combining consultancy, planning, technical oversight and construction supervision under a single structure.

“Poland is one of the most dynamic construction and real estate markets in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Steffen Szeidl, Chief Executive Officer and Partner at Drees & Sommer.

“This acquisition represents a decisive strategic step for Drees & Sommer. With ADC, we gain a proven partner with strong planning expertise, an excellent local network and a highly capable management team.”

He added that the move would strengthen the company’s ability to actively shape the Polish market while supporting increasingly complex regional developments.

Demand rising for integrated project capability

The acquisition comes amid sustained growth in Poland’s logistics, industrial, residential and infrastructure sectors, where project complexity, sustainability requirements and investor expectations continue to increase.

For project management firms, this is driving demand for integrated delivery capability that combines strategic consultancy with technical execution expertise.

Jörg Wohlfarth, Partner at Drees & Sommer, said ADC’s planning and execution capabilities complement the company’s existing consultancy strengths.

“Together, we can offer end-to-end solutions that combine international experience with deep local know-how — a key success factor for complex and large-scale projects in Poland and the wider CEE region,” he said.

Track record across major developments

Over the past eight years, ADC has delivered more than 300 projects across Poland, including logistics facilities, industrial sites, office developments, residential schemes and urban regeneration projects.

Notable projects include the 50,000 square metre Jerónimo Martins distribution centre in Opoczno, delivered jointly with Drees & Sommer, covering full design, project management and site supervision services.

Other major references include:

  • The redevelopment of Warsaw’s historic DTBJ department store
  • Expansion of Quemetica S.A.’s salt production facility in Janikowo
  • Residential developments for Victoria Dom totalling more than 100,000 square metres
  • A hydrogen-enabled bus depot project in Konin supporting low-emission public transport infrastructure

The diversity of these projects highlights how project delivery requirements are evolving beyond traditional construction management into wider programme coordination, sustainability integration and technical advisory services.

Leadership continuity and growth ambitions

ADC’s existing management team will remain in place following the acquisition, with the business continuing to operate under the brand “ADC – Part of Drees & Sommer”.

Boguslaw Paciorek, Managing Director of ADC, described the deal as a natural next step in the company’s development.

“Becoming part of Drees & Sommer is a logical next step in ADC’s development,” he said.

“The opportunities of a global consulting group broaden our growth path while allowing us to preserve our entrepreneurial culture, local strength and leadership continuity.”

Lukasz Lenczewski, Managing Director of ADC, added that the two companies had already established a strong collaborative relationship through previous projects.

“Our teams share the same values and ambition to deliver high-quality, integrated project solutions,” he said.

“The existing close cooperation between ADC and Drees & Sommer has already proven successful. Together, we are now even better positioned to support complex projects in Poland and beyond.”

Consolidation trend continues across project delivery sector

The acquisition reflects a wider consolidation trend within the global project management and consultancy sector, where firms are expanding geographically while strengthening multidisciplinary capabilities to support increasingly complex infrastructure and real estate portfolios.

For project professionals, the move highlights how technical planning, construction supervision and programme delivery expertise are becoming more tightly integrated as clients seek greater accountability, efficiency and lifecycle oversight across major developments.
