Jacobs has been awarded an eight-year multi-disciplinary framework by Murphy to support projects within SSEN Transmission’s portfolio, strengthening its role in delivering critical infrastructure for the UK’s transition to a low-carbon energy system.
The long-term agreement covers a range of transmission and distribution projects, including substations, grid connections and renewable energy assets, primarily across Scotland. The framework will see Jacobs provide integrated services spanning high-voltage electrical design, verification and assurance, alongside engineering, environmental, geotechnical and civil expertise.
Throughout the programme, Jacobs will work in collaboration with Murphy and its wider partner network, with a shared focus on safety, sustainability, innovation and resilience.

The award builds on Jacobs’ existing relationship with Murphy, including its recent appointment as civil design partner for the Uxbridge Moor substation project in West London, which aims to connect new customers to the electricity network and address rising demand.
Globally, Jacobs continues to play a significant role in advancing energy infrastructure, with projects including the Suedlink high-voltage cable in Europe, transmission and distribution programmes in the United States, and the Marinus Link interconnector in Australia.
