The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has completed the first phase of its “Economic Empowerment of Vulnerable Households in Pakistan through Livestock Provision Project,” supporting vulnerable families across Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir and Upper Dir.
Under this phase, 1,000 beneficiary households received a livelihood package consisting of two vaccinated goats, four bags of silage, and training from the Livestock Department to help them establish sustainable, livestock-based income streams. In total, 7,250 individuals benefited from Phase 1.
Implemented by the Peach and Development Organization in partnership with the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD) and PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the initiative aims to strengthen economic resilience and improve food security for households in four districts of the province.
As the programme moves ahead, KSrelief is preparing Phase 2 and Phase 3, which will expand support to additional districts. Vulnerable households in Swat, Swabi, Haripur and Mansehra will receive poultry packages including 25 birds per family, a full poultry kit and training in poultry management and income generation. Meanwhile, families in Charsadda, Mardan and Nowshera will be supported with cattle, silage and hands-on training in dairy production and animal care.
Through these phased interventions, the project aims to promote self-reliance, improved nutrition and long-term economic stability, underscoring KSrelief’s commitment to empowering vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
