The Town recently collaborated with Nashoba Valley Technical High School to provide its staff with professional headshots while offering students invaluable hands-on experience in the field of photography.
The initiative, spearheaded by Design and Visual Communications Instructor Derik Rochon, saw students photograph employees across various town departments. The project commenced in late 2024, with several photography sessions successfully conducted in December. The resulting professional headshots will be utilized on the town’s official website, within the Town Manager’s Newsletter, and in other municipal publications.
Town Manager Kristen Las championed the program, recognizing its dual benefit of providing high-quality professional headshots for town employees and offering a practical learning opportunity for local students.
Continuing into mid-March, town employees were invited to Nashoba Tech’s photography studio to receive updated headshots for both personal and professional use. During these sessions, students not only captured the staff portraits but also provided guided tours of their studio facilities, offered insights into their daily coursework, and showcased their developing skills in photography.
“This project serves as a remarkable illustration of community partnership in action,” stated Town Manager Kristen Las in a recent press release. “Our staff benefited immensely from receiving high-quality professional headshots, and equally importantly, we were able to support and engage with local students in a truly meaningful way. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Rochon and the talented students at Nashoba Tech for their creativity and collaborative spirit.”
