KT Corp. (KRX: 030200), a leading South Korean telecommunications company, today announced the successful completion of a joint project with Jasmine Technology Solutions (JTS), the information technology (IT) division of Thailand’s Jasmine Group, to develop a large language model (LLM) specifically for the Thai language. The partnership for this initiative was established in March of the previous year.
As part of this collaborative effort, KT has also developed LLM Ops, an operational management system for the newly created LLM, and a robust artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure known as GPU Farm. South Korean AI startup Upstage also played a key role in the development process.
The newly developed LLM offers comprehensive support for Thai, English, and Korean languages and demonstrates capabilities in answering queries related to Thai politics, history, and culture.
KT stated its intention to continue its collaboration with JTS to further enhance the AI platform, expand and maintain the GPU infrastructure, and develop additional AI-powered services for the Thai market. The company anticipates that the successful completion of this Thai-language LLM project will serve as a strategic foundation for the expansion of its AI business into other global markets.
