Leading Australian contractor Leighton Asia, a subsidiary of CIMIC Group (part of ACS), has been awarded a significant contract by prominent Indian developer Godrej Properties to construct six high-rise residential towers in Mumbai.
The expansive development, located in Kandivali East, will encompass a total floor area of nearly 500,000 square meters across the six 44-storey towers, situated on a 7.2-hectare site. Leighton Asia anticipates that this prestigious project will generate revenue exceeding US$100 million.
The project aims to achieve a LEED Silver rating certification, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental performance throughout its development and construction.
Juan Santamaría, Chairman of CIMIC, commented on the contract win, stating, “Large-scale, campus-style residential and commercial projects are a hallmark of Leighton Asia’s work in India and in Asia. Working with one of India’s leading real estate developers, we are pleased to be delivering this project for Mumbai’s growing population.”
Brad Davey, Managing Director of Leighton Asia, added, “Securing this new award highlights Leighton Asia’s expertise in delivering quality work safely and on time. With 26 years’ experience in India, we are committed to meeting our client’s expectations for this premium residential project.”
Godrej Properties has a strong presence in Kandivali East, with successful developments such as the Godrej Tranquil gated community and the four-tower Godrej Nest already established in the area. The latest residential scheme is scheduled for completion towards the end of 2028. This partnership underscores Leighton Asia’s continued growth and expertise in the Indian construction market and its ability to deliver large-scale, high-quality residential projects for leading developers.
