DOF Group, a leading Norwegian vessel owner, has been awarded a significant subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF) contract for an energy project off the coast of Africa. The contract, described as “very large” and valued between $100 million and $200 million, will see DOF installing a floating production unit for an undisclosed energy company in the Atlantic region.
The project encompasses a comprehensive suite of services, including project management, engineering, logistical support, and the execution of flexible flowline, riser, cable, and subsea structure installations.
“This contract further demonstrates the confidence energy companies have in DOF to fast-track, manage and execute large-scale marine operations for the installation of critical production infrastructure,” stated Mons Aase, CEO of DOF Group. “We are delighted with this award and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to deliver on this project.”
Project preparation is already underway, with execution planned across DOF’s Aberdeen and Bergen offices. The offshore segment in Africa is scheduled for the second half of 2025, utilizing six of DOF’s vessels and requiring over 450 vessel days.
This contract builds upon DOF’s recent success in securing an FPSO installation project in the Atlantic region, further solidifying its reputation for delivering complex offshore energy solutions. The company has a proven track record in Africa, having previously completed projects such as the FPSO and FSO installation for Eni’s development in Côte d’Ivoire.
