bp has partnered with Accelera by Cummins to drive the development of Germany’s largest green hydrogen project in Lingen. This collaboration underscores the growing importance of green hydrogen in the global energy transition and highlights Accelera’s role in delivering cutting-edge technologies that support a cleaner energy future.
At the heart of the Lingen project is Accelera’s 100 MW proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer system, a crucial component in the production of green hydrogen. This advanced technology efficiently converts water into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable electricity, offering a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.
The Lingen project, powered entirely by offshore wind energy, will produce up to 11,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, supporting the decarbonization of key industries such as steel and chemicals. This initiative not only reduces emissions but also strengthens the local economy and enhances energy security.
