His Excellency Engineer Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Minister of Works, has met with a delegation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) to discuss expanding cooperation and sharing expertise aimed at improving the efficiency of developmental projects and raising the quality of national infrastructure.
The Minister underlined the value of the Ministry’s long-standing strategic partnership with PMI, noting that the Ministry has served as an accredited training partner for nine years. This collaboration has supported the development of engineering talent by offering training in global best practices and helping staff obtain internationally recognised professional certifications.
During the meeting, both sides explored new opportunities for cooperation, including further training for the Certified Construction Professional (PMI-CP) credential. The Ministry of Works remains the only certified organisation in the Kingdom of Bahrain authorised to deliver PMI-CP training.
The Minister highlighted that adopting PMI’s international standards and methodologies has strengthened the efficiency and quality of strategic projects, supporting the government’s objective to continually improve public projects and services.
The discussion also reviewed areas for future collaboration, including participation in regional and global events organised by PMI and joint initiatives to promote a stronger culture of professional project management across Bahrain.
