The Warsaw Redevelopment Commission has approved a pivotal resolution for the disposition of property to facilitate a significant expansion within the Warsaw Tech Park. This decision paves the way for Autocam Medical to construct a new 100,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility, representing a capital investment exceeding $70 million in building and cutting-edge equipment.
The new Autocam Medical facility, to be located on 15 acres at the northeast corner of North CR 200W and U.S. 30, is projected to create up to 300 new jobs upon full completion. Jeremy Skinner, Warsaw Community and Economic Development Director, highlighted the impressive return on investment the city has achieved through the Tech Park. “For every dollar we’ve put in, we’ve created 10 new dollars in investment,” Skinner stated, noting that the park has already attracted $500 million in investment and 500 jobs prior to this latest development.
The commission’s approval initiates the formal process for property disposition, with appraisals averaging $521,250. This step will be followed by a public bid advertisement. “This will get the ball rolling,” Skinner added, emphasizing the collaborative efforts with the Warsaw Plan Commission to plat the 15-acre lot and update the district to capture future tax increment revenue.
Commission President George Clemens and former Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer expressed enthusiasm for the project. Thallemer remarked, “It’s just really neat to see this,” reflecting on the Tech Park’s 12-13 year journey from property acquisition to significant development. The resolution was unanimously approved by the commission.
