Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK), a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services in water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure, announced today the award of an $8 million contract by the City of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Tetra Tech will provide comprehensive engineering design and technical services for a significant modernization program at the City’s Water Pollution Control Facility.
The project will involve Tetra Tech engineers and technical specialists designing advanced wastewater treatment solutions to upgrade Gloucester’s existing facility, which is one of the last remaining primary treatment plants in the United States. The initial phase of the contract will see Tetra Tech deliver planning, engineering, and permitting services to integrate secondary treatment capabilities into the plant.
Tetra Tech’s innovative design approach for this approximately $100 million modernization project focuses on minimizing disruptions to ongoing plant operations. The proposed solutions will also position the City to effectively adapt to future capacity demands and evolving regulatory requirements, while simultaneously reducing energy consumption and costs. Furthermore, the design incorporates robust resiliency measures to provide critical flood protection.
“Tetra Tech is proud to apply our ‘Leading with Science ®’ approach to support the City of Gloucester in this crucial transformation of their wastewater treatment facility,” commented Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO. “We are committed to continuing to deliver exceptional value to the City, supporting vital infrastructure upgrades and safeguarding water quality within the Massachusetts Bay estuary.”
