Teltronic, a leading provider of mission-critical radio communications equipment and systems, today announced its participation in the MORANE-2 project, a consortium dedicated to testing the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) under real-world conditions.
This collaborative effort aligns with Europe’s ambitious goals of enhancing railway efficiency, sustainability, and digital connectivity.
As part of the project, Teltronic will implement its NG CeCoCo dispatching system, a key component of its Mission Critical Services (MCX) suite. This system will enable critical voice communications within the railway network, facilitating essential interactions between drivers, driver-controllers, and facilitating group calls and emergency communications.
The MORANE-2 project will involve rigorous testing across various environments, including both laboratory settings and real-world scenarios on both conventional and high-speed railway lines provided by ADIF.

The MORANE-2 project is expected to play a pivotal role in modernizing the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) by increasing capacity, advancing digitalization, and enhancing the competitiveness of rail transport for both passengers and freight.
Over the next 34 months, the project will rigorously evaluate and advance technological specifications ready for market implementation. FRMCS solutions will undergo comprehensive trials across three European laboratories and along five key railway corridors.
Co-financed with €13.5 million ($14 million) by Europe’s Rail (EU-RAIL) and the European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertakings (SNS JUs), the MORANE-2 project will also validate the latest FRMCS specifications from the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA).
Coordinated by the International Union of Railways (UIC), the consortium comprises a diverse group of railway infrastructure managers and technology providers.
