Glidevale Protect, a leading manufacturer of building products, is proud to support Persimmon Homes’ innovative new research project by supplying a range of high-performance building membranes for their groundbreaking Innovation Centre Trial House.
This three-storey home, built offsite using the latest timber frame technology, incorporates cutting-edge construction techniques, including a prototype brick façade factory-fitted to the timber frame.
Glidevale Protect’s contribution includes its Protect TF200 Extreme external wall breather membrane, Protect VC Foil Ultra reflective insulating membrane for internal walls, Protect VP300 vapour permeable roofing underlay, and the Protect UniRoll dry fix ridge and hip system. These products play a crucial role in enhancing the home’s thermal performance, airtightness, and condensation control.
Persimmon Homes will utilize the Innovation Centre Trial House as a platform for testing and evaluating new construction technologies, with a particular focus on energy efficiency and the benefits of offsite construction methods. The facility will also serve as a valuable training resource for staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
John Mellor, Head of Marketing at Glidevale Protect, commented, “We are delighted to be involved in this exciting project with Persimmon Homes.
