Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm Project Reaches Major Milestone

Yunneng Wind Power Co., Ltd. (Yunneng), the developer of the 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm (Yunlin OWF) project in Taiwan, has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of all 80 foundation installations. This marks a crucial step towards the project’s full completion by the end of 2024.

“Completing the foundation installation marks a crucial step towards finishing the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm project,” stated Patrick Lammers, CEO of Skyborn Renewables.

“This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our team and the collaborative spirit with our partners. We thank the Taiwanese government for their ongoing support. With the significant construction progress, successful financial restructuring, localization advancements, and a clear commitment to environmental responsibility, we demonstrate our commitment to Taiwan’s clean energy transition.”

The Yunlin OWF project has made significant progress, with 52 wind turbine generators already installed and generating clean electricity. Additionally, 56 out of 69 inner array grids and all 12 export cables are in place.

Yunneng has been a leader in sustainable development and environmental responsibility. The company has implemented a four-year “Black-faced Spoonbill Tracking Program” to monitor and protect this endangered species. This initiative has led to the discovery of new habitats and migration patterns, contributing to conservation efforts.

The Yunlin OWF project is supported by a strong financial consortium and is expected to generate enough clean energy to serve the needs of over 600,000 Taiwanese households.
