Jacobs Secures Major Contract to Support BHP’s Western Australian Iron Ore Operations

Jacobs (NYSE:J) has been awarded a significant contract by BHP to provide site engineering services for multiple projects across its Western Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) operations. The contract encompasses a range of engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, civil, environmental, and water-related services.

Jacobs will support up to 50 projects across BHP’s WAIO system, which comprises four processing hubs, five mining hubs, and over 1,000 kilometers of rail infrastructure. The company will leverage its global expertise and multidisciplinary teams to deliver consistent and efficient project execution.

Another significant project focuses on the refurbishment of the Nelson Point Ore Car Repair Shop (NPOCRS). Jacobs will provide engineering services for structural upgrades, amenity improvements, and equipment replacement, enhancing the facility’s efficiency and safety.

Additionally, Jacobs will support the replacement of the NPOCRS portal lathe, a critical component for maintaining the ore car fleet.
